Frequently Asked Questions

  • At Peerless, we strike a balance between being documentarians and artists. Of course, we want beautiful shots, but we are also careful to make sure that capturing those shots is not a distraction to you, your guests, or your vendors. In practical terms, this means that we follow the schedule as it has been established by your planner and/or photographer. We’ll find moments throughout the day to get shots specifically for video, but for the most part, we hang back and capture moments as they happen.

  • Absolutely!

We are licensed drone pilots and are a fully insured vendor. We are happy to share our certificate of insurance with your venue upon request.

  • The short answer is- more!

    ● Having a 2nd videographer allows for another angle for the entire day, most importantly at moments such as the ceremony, the toasts, first dances, and so forth. Also, it allows us to be in two places at once. This is usually most handy when the bride and groom are getting ready separately, or if there is travel between different venues.
    ● A second shooter also means more shots of your guests, details, decor, etc. Naturally, the lead shooter is going to be primarily focused on the couple. A second shooter will allow for more attention to be paid to the details.
    ● A 2nd camera operator allows us to better monitor audio as it is being recorded during your live event where do-overs are not an option. This helps us secure the highest quality audio possible.
    ● A 2nd person eliminates most of the downtime created by needing to move and set up equipment. For example, we can still be getting shots while transitioning between the ceremony and reception, or while one shooter is getting drone footage.

To be clear, we are very capable of capturing your wedding with a single person. We encourage you to consider your budget and needs in light of the advantages offered by having a second shooter present.

  • Yes! We are licensed drone pilots.

But drone flight can be limited by two major factors:
    1. The weather (we cannot fly during inclement weather)
    2. Local restrictions, i.e. No Fly Zones and the like
You’ll want to check with your venue to make sure they allow drone footage on and around their property. Ultimately, the team will only fly in safe conditions and the decision will be made by the pilot. It WILL NOT fly indoors and there are no refunds if the drone cannot be flown.

  • Yes, while Peerless Films is a Nashville-based company, we are happy to shoot wherever your event may be!

However, we do require a fee for anything over an hour of travel time outside of the Nashville area in order to cover the time and costs of travel. You will be notified in your introductory email if this fee applies to you.

  • The Peerless team is comprised of several lead shooters, all of whom have extensive experience with weddings. Due to logistical factors, the actual makeup of your video team is usually not determined until 4-6 weeks from the wedding date. However, if you would like to request Cameron himself to shoot your wedding, please inquire about pricing options and availability.

  • We love this kind of thing! Audio content like this is certainly not a requirement, but the more we have to work with, the better.

  • A highlight video is included in your purchased package and usually has a total run time of anywhere between 3-7 minutes. This includes all of the major highlights of the entire shoot time edited into one easy-to-watch video to share with all your friends and family and that you can enjoy for years to come.

A full length video is an add-on that we offer for those of you who watch your highlight video and want more! The run time is generally 45-90 minutes and includes the entire ceremony, toasts, first dances, etc. edited into a beautiful, easily watchable video for you to also enjoy for years to come.

  • The short answer is yes, but with a major exception. For legal reasons, we cannot use commercially licensed music in our highlight videos. On a more practical level, a video using a commercially licensed song would likely be flagged and taken down, so no one would be able to see it anyway. However, we are able to choose from a wide variety of music at musicbed.com - they have all types of genres and we’ve yet to have a style request that we couldn’t accommodate. If you prefer, you can even search musicbed.com yourself to find something that fits your vibe. Additionally, you can also send us an example of the music you'd like, and we can find something based on your suggestion. We generally go for instrumental/cinematic music in our videos, but we are open to other options as well!

  • This length of time can be affected by the date of your event, and holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. While we strive to deliver videos in a timely manner, our ultimate priority is making the best possible product we can. With that said, it generally takes about 8-12 weeks to complete either a highlight video or full length video.

  • Yes

Raw footage is the files straight from the camera and audio recorder. You’ll get hundreds of clips from your wedding, generally adding up to about 150-250GB of data. There is no color treatment to the footage or editing of any sort. Raw footage release can be purchased upon request after completion of edited videos and you must provide the flash drive or hard drive.

  • Raw footage is the files straight from the camera and audio recorder. You’ll get hundreds of clips from your wedding, generally adding up to about 150-250GB of data. There is no color treatment to the footage or editing of any sort. The full length video, on the other hand, is a much more watchable version of raw footage that is fully edited. It's everything we shot that day, all in a single video with music and a color treatment similar to the highlight video. Bad or repetitive shots are taken out, and important moments like the ceremony, first dances, and toasts are shown in their entirety.

  • Nope!

We have extensive history in shooting music videos, commercials, special events, and even proms! Just let us know the vision you have for your video and we’ll be happy to collaborate with you on how to make it happen.

  • Great!

All we need is your event’s date and location and, for weddings, the couple’s first and last names. From there we will write up a contract for you to look over and sign. We require a 50% deposit to hold the date but, the remaining balance is not due until 30 days before the event.
